Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision. (1) perform common duties of installing, maintaining, and repairing of plumbing systems contained in buildings and infrastructures (2) Use Carpentry skills related to repairing, construction, remodeling, and maintaining buildings, and infrastructures (3) installing repairing, and maintenance of electrical systems and parts. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated above and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selection official.

- Physical Efforts: Works from ladders, scaffolds, and on platforms in cramped and hard to reach places. Stands, stoops, bends, kneels, and climbs, end works in awkward, tiring, and uncomfortable positions. Moderate to heavy physical effort is involved, frequently lifting, moving, and carrying items up to 90 pounds, (50 pounds unassisted) while loading and unloading cargo, handling heavy equipment, parts, tools, and materials, and pushing wheelbarrows. Considerable arm movement in welding, carpentry, and masonry work, etc. All lifts over 50 pounds IAW MCAAP Regulation 385-8 will be assisted with a two person lift or using a mechanical handling equipment lifting device. The two-person lift limit is 100 pounds and will only be used for single event, non-routine lifts.
- Working Conditions: Works inside and outside, exposed to all weather conditions. Work in areas that are exposed to dust, fumes, dirt, grease, oils, and noisy conditions. Work on ladders, platforms, scaffolding or in close quarters. Inside work is usually performed on concrete floors. Area is frequently inadequately heated and cooled. Subject to possible injury from vehicular accidents, loading and unloading cargo, or from hand end power tools used. Subject to eye injury, cuts, bruises, contusions, insect bites and stings, scrapes, burns, infections, end broken bones. Individual(s) are subject to strains and injuries from lifting.
