Job Title:Maintenance Trades Helper (Eye Wash Tech)
Project Description: EMCOR Government Services, Inc. has an immediate need for a Maintenance Trades Helper to support our client JPL in Pasadena, CA. The project is approx. 3 million SF with more than 200 buildings on campus. The primary focus of the Maintenance Trades Helper is to perform preventive maintenance and routing repairs on all contract covered eyewash stations and emergency shower systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Under direct supervision, assists one or more skilled workers in the skilled Maintenance Trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill.
• Inspect, test, clean, and repair emergency eyewash stations
• Inspect, test, clean, and repair emergency showers and drench systems
• Keeps more skilled workers supplied with materials and tools.
• Cleans the work area and the tools and equipment being used.
• Uses hand trucks, carts, or related apparatus to move or transport parts, equipment, or materials.
• Gathers and holds materials and tools being used by more skilled employees.
• May individually perform certain machine operations or parts of a maintenance task under supervision.
• Responsible for the completion of all PM and record keeping assigned to his / her areas of responsibility.
• May perform higher skilled job classifications, if has developed the skills to do so (i.e. GMW).
• Performs maintenance on assigned utility cart.
• Work with the MRO group to provide vendor quotes, and information for ordering materials
• Performs other maintenance helper related duties as directed.

Qualifications:

• Must possess 1-year experience supporting a variety of Maintenance Trades.
• The position requires candidates to be able to work independently as well as being able to work as part of a team to accomplish projects in support of facilities maintenance.
• Candidates must have basic mechanical skills.
• Must be capable of using hand tools in a safe manner.
• Must have knowledge of computer operations and application pertinent to their field (CMMS, Microsoft applications and email).
• Must be able to move / lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders and work at various heights.
• Basic interpersonal skills and good customer service skills.
• Ability to read and write in the English Language.
• Valid CA driver's license.
• Must have the ability to multi-task, be organized, pay attention to detail, be dependable, and be a team player.
• Flexibility to work alternate schedules as necessary.
• Perform all other duties as assigned to meet customer critical missions.
• Provide own basic hand tools.

Compensation Range: $20.81 / hr.
