Scope:
The Painter is responsible for helping to ensure safety of residents and staff, building appearance, and assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in daily physical plant operations.
Minimum eligibility requirements:
- Relevant work experience (1+ years preferred).
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
- Must demonstrate an ability to work responsibly as a team member and independently.
- Must be honest, dependable, respectful and maintain confidentiality of the rights and privacy of others.
- Must be organized and possess attention to detail.
- Must meet all health requirements.
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (essential job functions), with or without reasonable accommodation.
Essential functions:
- Wall sanding, repair, and detail painting.
- Beautification of facility and grounds.
- Conducts scheduled maintenance throughout facility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment (toilets, hoses, outlets)
- Replaces light bulbs, clean room PTAC filters
- Use hand and power tools
- Assembles new equipment and furniture
Customer service:
- Responsible for ensuring that all employees and guest are provided excellent customer service.
- Perform job duties for residents and with team members in a courteous and professional manner.
- Take initiative to ensure resident are safe and their living environment is comfortable.
- Meet and greet visitors in a friendly manner
- Answer phones appropriately
Residents’ rights:
- Adhere to regulations regarding residents’ rights.
Training:
- Attend training sessions as directed by supervisor.
Other:
- Follow and communicate company policies and procedures.
Working conditions (travel, hours, environment):
- Scheduled hours; possible overtime.
- Is subject to callback during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
- Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., through the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, and other air contaminants.
- May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- Must be willing and available for emergency calls via cell phone (details to be worked out between employee and the Executive Director).
- Workspaces must be kept orderly and clean.
Physical/sensory requirements:
- Medium work: ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Must have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents and staff.
- Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile people within the community.
OSHA category classification:
- II: Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens
