Maintenance Technician

Primary Purpose of Role: The primary purpose of the Maintenance Technician is to assist the maintenance supervisor and perform necessary activities to keep the equipment and facilities in proper order.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs to building facilities and production equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on production equipment as outlined in the preventative maintenance procedure.
• Analyze resulting data from preventative maintenance and determine/suggest frequency to prevent equipment downtime.
• Monitor and assist in coordination of maintenance department resources.
• Skill and ability to operate all machine shop equipment to fabricate and repair items.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of electrical wiring, plumbing, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Measure and verify fabricated, worn or repaired parts using various measurement equipment.
• Using various instruments as necessary, observe operation of equipment to locate source of problems and affect repairs.
• Read and interpret equipment diagrams, sketches, schematics, blueprints, specifications, operating manuals and written instructions.
• Skill and ability to operate man lifts and cranes.
• Oversee and assist in relocation/installation of production equipment and necessary utilities.
• Maintain replacement parts and materials inventory.
• Monitor machine operations to assure machines function in a safe and efficient manner, notifying supervisor of equipment malfunctions.
• Make suggestions for changes in equipment practices and procedures to improve or resolve facility problems.
