Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift
Summary of Position Responsibilities:
Perform required work for maintaining the building, presses, and associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Actively work to reduce maintenance repair and preventive maintenance costs
• Assist in developing plans to reduce breakdown related downtime
• Maintain a safe work environment and report any unsafe conditions
• Keep all work areas clean and free of oil
• Minimize the amount of downtime associated with repairs
• Additional education as required to help reduce external maintenance repair cost
• Properly complete and file all required maintenance document.
• Effectively communicate with other departments and shifts
• Complete assigned preventative maintenance activities in a timely manner
• Participates in continuous improvement process as required
• Participates in 8D problem solving as required
• Performs all other assigned duties
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Reading 7 – 9th grade and math 8th grade to be determined by testing
2. 1-3 years plastic industry maintenance experience including hydraulics and pneumatics
3. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
4. Ability to supply own tools
5. Ability to obtain valid hi-lo license
6. Knowledge of state and federal environmental and OSHA laws preferred
7. Good performance record
8. Must be able to demonstrate competency through testing and job performance after training.
Other Requirements:
Physical: Performing the duties of the Lead Maintenance Technician’s position will require regular use of hands to finger, handle, feel and talk or hear. This position is also required to stand walk sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel crouch, or crawl. Occasional lifting of up to 50lbs with regular lifting of up to 10lbs will be required. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Flexibility: This position requires flexibility with special situations that may require after regular hours phone calls or assignments.
