Description
The Maintenance Technician is a hands-on maintenance role from machine maintenance to facilities work, they will be responsible for looking for continuous improvement opportunities to processes, equipment, and the facility. Knows all preventative maintenance procedures and policies and basic operational procedures. Can sort through work orders and determine priority levels based on experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Guarantee that maintenance and operation programs are duly established and executed in accordance with specifications.
- Verify entry of finished work orders with actual resources, remarks for Maintenance records and any other information that may be necessary to enrich feedback of Work Orders.
- Support and encourage efforts of the work team for continuous improvement and to maximize the team's reliability and effectiveness.
- Participate in the daily meeting of Planning and Advance.
- Report all events and minor Maintenance and Operation works. in the shift's report and in the open work order.
- Support Team members in activities related to the Maintenance Program implementation and development program.
- Report emergency works that were served, as well as applied labor and used resources.
- Execute maintenance work according to weekly/daily program.
- Provide feedback to the execution program.
- Provide feedback to emergency activities solved as well as resources applied.
- Responsible for adhering to all safety policies and improving safety within the company by supporting the Safety Committee and company safety efforts.
- Obtain the greatest use of its resources.
- Ensure excellent quality in the execution of activities.
- Ensure excellent operating conditions of the equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Solve emergencies minimizing repair times.
- Avoid equipment interruptions due to emergencies, ensuring operative continuity.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- 1 - 5 years of progressive maintenance experience required.
- 3 years of experience in heavy industrial/heavy manufacturing preferred.
- Prefer a minimum of 1 year facilities maintenance experience.
- Proven knowledge of Preventative and predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies.
- Proven experience in engineering, specification and design of mechanical systems, assets and projects.
- Excellent communication, team interaction and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as lead/participate on cross functional teams.
- Proven experience as a self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision.
- Proven understanding of electrical regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
- Proven understanding of control and instrumentation systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proven knowledge of reliability methodologies and strategies such as RCM, TPM, Spare Parts Management, Planning and Scheduling.
Working Conditions
- Continuous exposure to heat, cold, noise and occasionally working outdoors.
- Must wear all necessary protective equipment while at the location.
Physical Requirements
- Required walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
- Heavy work-exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate with employees/visitors as well as function safely around manufacturing equipment.
- Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling controls.
- Must pass pre-employment physical to include physical to include physical exertion, hearing test and drug/alcohol screening.
