Summary of Responsibilities
The Machine Maintenance employee uses advanced mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all types of equipment. This job description indicates the general nature and level of the work that is expected. Primary Responsibilities
- Tear down broken equipment, assess the problem, and determine work needed to repair the equipment, order replacement parts, reassemble equipment and test.
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools.
- Inspect drives, motors and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters or perform other maintenance actions using checklists.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
- Observe equipment operations so malfunctions can be detected.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma
- Knowledge of general mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs.
- General machine knowledge
- Seven years working with pneumatic and hydraulic machinery
