Position Overview
- Effectively and properly maintains fleet and mechanical equipment at all facilities for The Blood Connection.
- Assists the efficiency and effectiveness of The Blood Connection by assuring the facilities and equipment are in proper working order and items are in good quantity and in a neat, organized manner.
Essential Functions
Facilities:
- Assists with and oversees proper maintenance, and documentation of maintenance, of the company's landscaping, irrigation systems, parking areas, exterior lighting, exterior displays (signs, marques, etc.), waste handling area, outside maintenance areas, and other items related to the upkeep of the company's real property; including scheduling of maintenance work and when qualified, performing certain maintenance procedures
Buildings:
- Helps maintain and document maintenance of the company's building including scheduling of maintenance work, and when qualified performing certain maintenance procedures
- Maintains the interior and exterior building appearance
Operational Equipment:
- Assists operational staff in scheduling of maintenance work, and when qualified perform certain maintenance procedures
- Assists operational staff in the record keeping of such maintenance when required
- Assists with special projects as required
Fleet Vehicles (Motor Pool):
- Assists with tracking the proper maintenance, and documentation of maintenance, of the company's fleet vehicles
- Fabricates and assembles metal structures and equipment using welders, cutters, and measuring tools
- Schedules mechanic services and when qualified, performs mechanic work on the fleet vehicles
Miscellaneous:
- Periodic assistance in bus deliveries and pick-ups
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned or required
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical/Vocational School for Building Maintenance, Fleet (Automotive and Truck) service and repair or seven years of related experience with the disciplines described above
- Seven plus years of related experience preferred
- CDL License with no major infractions and dependable transportation
- Ability to read and follow written and/or verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously to patrons, donors, sponsors, and co-workers
- Ability to work with all levels and in a diverse work environment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and peers
