Maintenance Technician I

Position Purpose:

The primary function of a Maintenance Technician I is to maintain a clean and organized facility by completing a variety of tasks. The goal is to ensure our businesses accommodation is problem-free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

• General cleaning of the building and keeping it maintained and in good condition.
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
• Cleaning and stock restrooms.
• Clean up spills with appropriate supplies and materials.
• Notify management when repairs are needed.
• Collect and dispose of trash.
• Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
• Keep cleaning supplies in stock.
• Anything else asked of you that is necessary for the success of Pres-Tek Plastics.

Qualifications

Required Education/certification:

• High School or GED diploma, or previous experience.

Required Knowledge:

• Understands how to use basic cleaning equipment.

Required Skills / Abilities:

• Well organized.
• Accurate and attention to detail.
• Be able to perform basic reading and arithmetic problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to assist and support others.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
• Effective planning/organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written & spoken) as required for job related communication throughout the organization.
• Represents the company in a professional manner.
• Regular attendance required.
• Flexibility to work different shifts and/or overtime.

Physical Requirements:

• Be able to safely complete the physical tasks associated with the essential job functions. These tasks may include extensive walking, lifting, bending, standing, carrying and squatting.
• Involves sitting, standing, kneeling and/or moving for extended periods of time, with the ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force to move objects.
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound perceiving their nature.
• Ability to extend hands or arms in any direction. Repetitive motions, physical ability to sustain movements of the fingers, wrists, hands or arms.
• Ability to express or exchange information by means of spoken word.
• Must able to see (depth perception, near acuity and far acuity) and see colors.
• Must be able to maneuver safely around moving equipment and/or in congested manufacturing areas.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves/boots, etc.
• Exposed to various packaging materials, raw ingredients, cleaning chemicals, lubricants, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
