What is this job?

You would be responsible, in partnership with the maintenance supervisor, for the operation and maintenance of the buildings and grounds of our PA Campus. You would be part of a larger team working together to support young people, aged 12 - 20 years old, in a residential setting, and part of a larger facilities team that spans WV, PA, and MD.

Our Mechanicsburg, PA, campus used to be called United Methodist Home for Children prior to merging with BCC in 2018.

What prior education and experience do I need?

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience performing a variety of maintenance activities.

We will get you certified in everything else you need for this role (e.g. CPR/First Aid). All training is paid.

• Base compensation begins at $20.10 / hr and goes up commensurate with experience. The recruitment team can help provide a more accurate compensation estimate during the phone interview.

What does this job do specifically?

• To dismantle machines or equipment to gain access to replace defective parts.
• To respond to work order requests for service.

• To repair window and door hardware.
• To measure and install pipe and tubing for gas and water systems.
• To move furniture and prepare for special events.
• To remove ice and snow throughout campus.
• To inspect machinery, buildings, and grounds for defects for future repair.
• To help in all agency clean up and set ups for functions.
• Check-in vendors to the campus, obtain confidentiality agreements, review work safety plans and training, and obtain sign-off on work safety expectations.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Complete monthly safety inspections.
• Complete light electrical work.
• Complete light plumbing issues.
• Rotate within the on-call coverage schedule

What hours and shifts are we hiring for?

• We are looking to hire for a full-time Maintenance Technician.
• Days of work are Monday through Friday with some flexibility of start and end times during the day.
• This Maintenance Technician role is part of a paid, rotating, weekend on-call schedule.
