Comstock Metals Corporation, a subsidiary of Comstock Inc., is dedicated to the recycling of end-of-life electrification products, which first and foremost prevents materials used in the electrification economy from ultimately being disposed of in landfills. In addition, Comstock Metals’ goal is to recover the scarce and expensive metals from electrification products for eventual reuse.

The recycling of electrification products at the end of their useful life is in its nascent stages, and Comstock Metals Corporation is seeking to develop a leadership position by establishing a profitable metals recycling and recovery business, augmenting the supply of these critical commodities. The Company’s first operating facility will be in Silver Springs, Nevada.

We seek a Maintenance Technician with the skills, experience, and ability to coordinate day-to-day maintenance and operations for the facility. To thrive in this role, you will need to be stimulated by a material processing-based environment, be able to work independently, communicate well, and be highly organized. You must have a proven ability to meet schedules and prioritize activities in a small business environment. For the right candidate, you will play an integral part in the future of our company.

As an ideal candidate, we expect you to have:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience operating machinery in a safe manner.
• Experience following protocols and standard operating procedures.
• 10+ years of hands-on industrial electrical, HVAC, boilers, maintenance, or related experience. 
• Able to replace and fix electrical equipment, including heavy machinery.
• Able to troubleshoot potential issues and devise and execute a plan to fix the problem.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits, including the operation and function of solenoids, relays, motors, transformers, switches, motor control centers, and generators.
• Familiar with PLC HMI operation.
• Able to operate mobile equipment.
• Physical capacity to operate a forklift and willingness to be certified.

It would be great if you have:

• Advanced trades training or associate degree.
• Apprentice/journeyman training program or technical school training in industrial electrical and/or automation is a plus.
• Mechanical and welding skills.
• Experience working with medium voltage motors, transformers, and switchgear.
• Experience with boilers, burners, and natural gas-based systems.
• Forklift training and certification

What you will do as a Maintenance Technician:

As the Maintenance Technician, you will be part of the team in the Silver Springs Facility and perform installation, maintenance, and repair activities, always adhering to the company’s Safety, Health, and Environmental policies. The work involves many tasks and duties, requiring considerable care to effectively and efficiently operate and maintain conveyors, large-scale shredding equipment, and high-temperature heat treatment gas ovens.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

• Regularly inspect systems, adjust when needed, clean burners, spark plugs, and UV sensors on burners, lubricate equipment, and engage in preventive maintenance. Beyond preventative maintenance
• Repair equipment, troubleshoot fixes, and ensure that equipment is maximally ‘online’
• Operate machinery, electrical systems, natural gas and propane burners, and pneumatics in an industrial setting, in addition to maintaining the work area and equipment in a safe, clear, and orderly fashion
• Maintain spare parts inventory and act as the first line of defense for all safety-related matters.
• Ensure accurate record keeping and actively follow all regulatory and safety regulations and practices
