We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a commercial property located in Flushing, NY. The Maintenance Technician, under the direction of the Property Manager and the Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for the overall maintenance and care of the grounds, parking areas, and common area facilities of the property in an effort to maintain a standard environment at all times. Your duties and responsibilities:

• Handle turnover of empty units, including repairs (e.g., sheetrock, taping, sanding, painting, and fixing doors, windows, light fixtures, etc.)
• Use your basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills to respond to tenant maintenance requests
• Install tile and laminate flooring
• Assist in maintaining walkways and parking lot in the winter
• Take part in the on-call rotation schedule and respond to maintenance emergency calls
• Report all issues to management
• Other maintenance duties as assigned

We hope you:

• Are a multi-tasker
• Have a go-getter attitude and are ready to work
• Have at least 2 years of experience in multi-family maintenance and have experience with public contact
• Have formal training or experience in the following areas electrical work, painting, refurbishing, and Authority's "Maintenance Test"

Job must-haves:

• Minimum high school education or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and current vehicle registration
• Possession of basic tools needed to perform routine maintenance tasks
• Physical aspects of the job may require heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, balancing, and carrying
• Demonstrate a neat and clean appearance and uphold maintenance standards.
• MUST BE FSD CERTIFIED.
