Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and associated electronic and instrumentation controls. Ability to solve or troubleshoot mechanical problems will be an asset. Operate and monitor multifunction process control machinery and equipment to control the processing of paper and other materials in the production of pulp.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years industrial experience.
- Proof of formal training in specialty areas (i.e., Pneumatics, Hydraulics, mechanical, PLC’s, Instrumentation, etc.)
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
- Install industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up and repair of machinery
- Adjust machinery to repair or replace defective parts
- Proficiency or ability to learn electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Proficiency or ability to learn to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic.
- Connect electrical power to communication equipment, signalling devices and heating and cooling systems.
- Proficiency or ability to learn to install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, cable assemblies, fixtures and other electrical components.
- Proficiency or ability to learn to test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
- Proficiency or ability to learn to maintain, repair, install and test switchgears, transformers, switch-board meters, regulators, electrical motors, generators, storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
- Proficiency or ability to learn to troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical and electronic control systems and devices, isolate faults and remove & replace faulty components.
- Proficiency or ability to learn to operate machine tools such as lathes, mills, and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintain or set-up machinery
- Proficiency or ability to learn to operate Mig and Tig welders, cutting torches, plasma cutters, metal brakes, metal sheers, and other such tools necessary to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintain or set-up machinery
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
- Work additional hours as necessary to maintain operations in emergency situations and through major planned shutdowns
- Perform all tasks assigned, participate in specific training programs determined by the needs of the company, and to keep skills current.
- Startup, shutdown, setup and adjust equipment as required
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Train or assist in training new workers
- Maintain and complete records in our CMMS System.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
