Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
This role is within the maintenance team at the Bay City ASU and may support additional locations as needed.
- Achieve zero personal first aid/injuries
- Understand the safe work permit practices and comply with requirements
- Participate in the Air Liquide safety programs
- Comply with all ALA policies including Responsible Care
- Investigate plant mechanical problems
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance tasks
- Perform major maintenance work as required during turnarounds
- Assists zone/national personnel with precision mechanical work as required
- Plan mechanical jobs as directed by supervision
- Document critical measurements in the field
- Participate in the optimization of mechanical PMs
- Correct issues found through the PdM program
- Maintain equipment records in both electronic and written form
- Assist Maintenance coordinator in maintaining equipment manuals
- Understand utilizing the maintenance center and corporate standards
- Perform routine inspections on equipment; promote equipment rounds
- Identify corrective maintenance items and write WOs
- Personal commitment to reliability improvement
- Improve PM details and job plans following proper procedure
- Assist zone in achieving safety, availability and reliability goals
- Take precise measurements, perform precision alignment, generate necessary reports
- Participate in turnaround activities at other locations
- Contribute to team building and sharing of lessons learned
- Maintain and expect high housekeeping standard
- Manage site equipment lubrication
- Record and interpret machinery vibrations
- Primarily support the Bay City facility, but zone plants as needed
Are you a MATCH?
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2+ years mechanical maintenance experience
- Can travel for extended periods of time (1 to 7 days), with little advance notice
- Able and willing to meet on-call requirements, including holidays
- Knowledgeable in safe work practices, safety procedures and other safety requirements
- Experience with maintaining compressors, pumps and other rotating equipment
- Able to interpret critical measurements and make recommendations to supervision
- Knowledge of critical hold points during assembly and disassembly for quality, inspection and documentation
- Welding experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to use Google sheets and documents
- Knowledge in the proper methods of locking out and isolating equipment
- Qualified in operation of the forklift, manlift and overhead crane
- Have a valid driver's license
- 2 year associates degree in a technical field or technical training
- Air Separation experience
- Demag, Atlas Copco and Joy compressor experience
- Working knowledge with the use of a CMMS, Maximo experience
- FES refrigeration experience is a plus
- Natural gas fired heater experience is a plus
- Understanding of Vibration Analysis, use of data collector is a plus
- Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to climb ladders, work off elevated platforms/surfaces
- Able to work in non-conditioned environment for extended periods
- Able to enter confined spaces for inspection, testing and work
