Maintenance Technicians - 1st Shift
MTS - Byron Center, MI
Martin Transportation Systems Inc, is seeking a highly qualified Maintenance Technician for Byron Center, MI location. The Technician will need basic understanding of construction techniques, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, industrial equipment. The Technician will be tasked with troubleshooting existing equipment as well as installing new. The position will also require constant communication with warehouse supervisors and a direct manager for responsibilities and updates. The position requires occasional travel to a variety of locations for various projects. Associates degree is preferred. Maintenance Technician Essential Functions:
- Must have the ability to diagnose and repair or miscellaneous electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry issues. As well as installing new.
- Effectively and safely operates standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance from daily up to Semi-Annual.
- Complete troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical related issues without direct supervision.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulation as well as other departmental policies and procedures. Help to develop proper safety techniques.
- Detect, document, report and repair improper machine operation and faulty facility equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in either the maintenance or construction field
- Must have reliable transportation
