We have an immediate need for a Maintenance Technician in our Hidalgo, Texas facility.
Position Summary: Perform a variety of multi trade functions, such as the installation, maintenance or repair of equipment, machinery, and facility. Perform any duties necessary to maintain machinery, equipment, systems or facilities in a state of good, safe working condition. These duties will include troubleshooting, repair, installation, remove and replacement, basic design, simple fabrication, adjustment, rebuilding, etc.
Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years experience in manufacturing plant operations and maintenance with associate's degree/trade school required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing systems.
Knowledge of all aspects and principals of maintenance and repair of pumps, compressors, electrical parts and motors. Automotive lamination process preferred Qualified to operate forklifts. Flexibility to travel to Mexico manufacturing plants as needed.
Knowledge of 5 "S" tools. Sensors Application experience. PLC experience preferred, basic level.
Primary Position Responsibilities: Responsible for all activities of maintenance department including trouble shooting and repairing machine and equipment problems, upgrade equipment and new installations. Perform work and keep records of preventive maintenance activities and equipment using maintenance management software. Perform routine building maintenance, working on HVAC issues, minor adjustments, repairs and maintenance.
Liaise with engineering personnel on plant maintenance problems and incorporate maintenance considerations in the selection of new and replacement plant equipment. Gather, build and articulate ROI justification for new expenditures. Coordinate the work of contractors with planned maintenance activities and operation considerations budget and plan maintenance activities and plant improvement activities and create cost justification scenario.
Develops or revises standard maintenance procedures to maximize effectiveness and maintain a safe work environment and good safety attitude by employees. Recommend and maintain important and necessary spare parts inventories. Work with vendors to keep abreast of new equipment and process developments and to find alternate sources of supply with better pricing or service.
Oversees outside maintenance service work done by fabricators, machine shops, electrical shops, etc. Work with vendors to keep abreast of new equipment and process developments and to find alternate sources of supply with better pricing or service. Maintain all ISO Documents and provide training to employees, as required. Ensure all OSHA certification and inspections are carried out and keep contracts and permits related to the plant current. Other duties as assigned Essential Skills and Experience: Thorough knowledge of plant equipment maintenance and working principles.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Frequent communication with internal and external personnel. Ability to operate computerized maintenance management systems Ability to handle multiple projects within a fast paced environment Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends.
This position is subject to 24-hour emergency call or weekend coverage as required to meet operational and maintenance needs. Must be good at problem solving. Ability to read and understand technical information, interpret drawings, process flow diagrams and specifications about the company and explain same to others.
