Maintenance Team Member

The Maintenance Team Member is responsible for the cleaning and event set ups for a House of Worship and its Early Childhood Center and Day School. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working as part of a dedicated team. This individual has experience in custodial tasks, takes pride in their work and appreciates the importance of their job for the safe functioning of the campus.

Job Responsibilities:

● Review daily set-up requests and ensure that all tables, chairs, supplies are organized in a timely manner

● Breakdown after events and replace equipment in designated storage locations – with proper care and attention

● Clean and disinfect all areas on the campus, including but not limited to classrooms, offices, workspaces, and common areas both indoors and outdoors.

o Empty, clean, and damp wipe all waste receptacles as well as remove waste paper and rubbish from the premises to designated areas

o Hand dust and wipe clean all office/Classroom furniture, file cabinets, fixtures, windowsills, air ducts, and all other horizontal surfaces.

o Damp-mop or clean any spillage in the classrooms, stairwells, and hallways.

o Sweep or dust mop hard floor surfaces.

o Clean and disinfect all desks and heavy traffic surfaces.

o Provide extra disinfection of high-touch areas during cold, flu and infectious disease outbreaks

o Other jobs and duties as identified or assigned as needed.

● Keep janitor closets clean, neat, and in orderly condition.

● Complete weekly assignments as provided by supervisors.

● Weekly meeting with the Director of Facilities to discuss any current or ongoing issues, review new or changing policies and procedures, discuss the goals and identify measures to achieve these maintenance goals.

● Monitor and inspect assigned work area while performing duties

Skills and Qualifications:

● Capable of working alone and unsupervised with a team

● Willingness to learn new skills and multi-task

● Detail oriented with good time management skills and efficiency

● Strong work ethic with high moral standards

● Ability to lift objects of 90 lbs or more

● Ability to stand for extended period of times and climb stairs

● Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English

● Computer and tech skills that will support audio and video events (Zoom and Livestream) are a PLUS!

● Spanish fluency is a PLUS!

● Knowledge in one or more trades such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry is a PLUS!

Requirements:

● High school diploma or G.E.D.

● US Citizenship or Proof of authorization to work legally in the United States

● Successful completion of a full background check and livescan

● Desire and willingness to work in a religious and educational institution.

Hourly rate: $19-22/hr based on experience

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities

- Supervise and coordinate maintenance projects as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.31 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
