DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Assist the Corporate Maintenance Training Manager with various maintenance and training duties as assigned. Provide support to the Maintenance Training Manager when creating schedules, performing maintenance on plant machinery/equipment, and conducting inspections of plant machinery/equipment. Partner with selected vendors.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform audits on proper maintenance completion.
- Inspect company equipment for possible problems and report findings.
- Assist with planning and scheduling of work orders, repairs, and servicing.
- Assist with planning, scheduling and coordination of resources, parts, materials, and equipment access.
- Assist with planning and supporting projects at all SugarCreek plants.
- Travel to company sites, provide on-site support for project.
- Partner with selected vendors to accomplish projects.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Participate in SugarCreek Internship Program and coordinate with other departments as needed.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations.
- Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies.
- Follow Sugar Creek Packing Co. safety rules and procedures.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree-seeking program with a major in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related field.
Exerpience: None required.
Certification or Licensure Requirements: None required.
ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Possess knowledge and passion for food industry.
- Possess proficiency with computer programs, specifically Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Able to plan, organize, and manage time effectively.
- Possess basic mathematic skills, specifically in arithmetic and algebra.
- Able to write and communicate effectively.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
No unusual physical requirements. Physical requirements are consistent with manufacturing-type maintenance positions. Interns will at times have to lift items weighing upwards of 20 lbs. Most physical activity will consist of standing/walking during the day, working on various machines, and sitting at a desk only occasionally. The use of stairs/ladders is common in performing certain maintenance or retrieving certain tools or parts. Maintenance on some machines will require bending, stooping, or crawling.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Some travel to other locations is required.
Most work is performed in an indoor, office-like room within the manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Some work is performed outside of the manufacturing facility including roof access. Safety wear is required, including hard hat, hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe boots, and coats.
