- Ensures all day programs are ready for standardized surveys.
- Comprehends and performs work orders through company phone, emails, and assignments.
- Assess properties and completes work orders to ensure the safety and health of individuals and employees.
- Adheres to basic professional standards not limited to adhering to Agency Code of Conduct.
- Plunges toilets and ensures plumping is properly working.
- Repairs sheetrock, spackles, and paint as needed.
- Repairs broken sinks, toilets, and other plumbing equipment.
- Inspects, repairs, and installs electrical equipment/appliances, light switches, light fixtures, and light bulbs.
- Transports furniture and other equipment.
- Ensures breaker is properly working when an electric issue arises.
- Repairs locks and security systems as needed.
- Paints walls and exteriors of buildings.
- Performs miscellaneous custodial work as needed.
- Troubleshoots mechanical issues in equipment/appliances.
- Inspects heating and cooling systems, dryers, generators, and fire safety equipment.
- Performs basic HVAC repairs.
- Collaborates with other maintenance workers to determine the best course of action for required tasks.
- Ensure that all walkways, entryways, driveways and parking lots are shoveled or plowed at FREE’s properties to avoid injuries during emergency inclement weather.
- Keeps logs of all maintenance work.
- Reports to the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator with work updates.
- Prioritize, multi-task, and respond to calls in a busy, multi-faceted, professional environment.
- Performs tasks in a timely, thorough manner.
- Comprehensively assesses needed repairs and prepare tools and materials for required work.
- Communicate effectively with visitors, contractors, vendors and delivery people to best address concerns and questions to ensure positive and accurate results.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
- Valid NYS Driver License.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in maintenance field or mechanical repair work.
- Must have knowledge and experience in the operation of power equipment and machines.
- Must be able to effectively communicate.
- Must be skilled in interpersonal relationships to act appropriately in various settings.
- Knowledge of wall board repair and painting
- Background in carpentry, plumbing and installing sheet rock.
- Basic knowledge in electricity.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Must be flexible.
- Able to drive, possess good organization and communication skills.
- Works well as a team player.
