EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Performs complicated work assignments requiring formal training and/or skill gained through wide experience. Performs major repairs on machines, tools, fixtures, plant utilities and buildings. Performs PM tasks. Troubleshoots manufacturing tooling and equipment problems. Position requires compliance with the Technology Control Plan and the Federal Export Control Policy established for the Corporation.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Make mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical repairs. Must be able to read blueprints and interpret maintenance manuals, and/or interpret schematics to analyze and troubleshoot in accomplishing repairs. Establishes own procedure and sequence of progressive steps in accomplishing repair and decides on what parts need replacing. Installs all utilities to machines or processes such as: electric, air, water, drain, gas, and etc. Orders replacement parts as needed and keeps inventory of required replacement parts to assure continuous production operation. Repairs jig, fixtures, and tools as needed. Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and makes recommendations to management for improvement to assure continuous production. Manually lift up to 100 lbs occasionally (with assistance, mechanical, or second person) with frequent lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. Frequent mental and visual effort required. Perform accurate visual inspection. Responsible to identify and communicate corrective actions.
Must meet attendance standards.
Knowledge Level A: Builds new processes for AFE projects, builds complex processes with prints, complex troubleshooting and semi-complex debugging, documents work with work instructions and drawings.
Knowledge Level B: Builds new equipment without formal prints, debug complex problems, documents work with work instructions and drawings. Lead/direct other maintenance personnel priorities.
SUPERVISION REQUIRED:
Supervision is minimal; uses own initiative in performing repairs and other work assignments.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Uses hand tools, power tools, maintenance equipment, meters, gages, computers, and etc. as necessary to perform assignments. Work on: molding machines, wire terminating equipment, air compressors, sonic welders, vibration welders, jigs, fixtures, powered lift trucks, computers, testers, and all other production/facility equipment as required.
MATERIALS USED:
Uses a variety of maintenance parts and supplies.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposed to some unpleasant conditions; frequent exposure to job accidents of a lost time nature.
