Maintenance mechanics at BCS are responsible for mechanical, electrical and plumbing installation and repairs of maintenance equipment including piping and controls located in the interior and exterior of all BCS buildings.
Essentials of job:
1.Oversee and monitor the operation and make adjustments of refrigeration, heat exchanger, HVAC, electrical, emergency backup systems and hot water systems. (occasionally)
2.Requires the ability to troubleshoot the operation of various systems, determines the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required. (occasionally)
3.Performs preventive maintenance on all BCS buildings and critical system equipment, which includes but not limited to; assembling all tools, supplies and necessary instruments to complete the job. (frequently)
4.Performs work with a minimum amount disruption, conducting immediate clean-up of work area. (constantly)
5.Report any impending supply of material shortages to the Facility Services Supervisor. (occasionally)
6.Installs and repairs plumbing/piping/tubing; wire single and three phase motors; run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.; install and rebuild pumps and motors; install air compressors; heat exchangers; replace bearings in all types of motors; replace seals on pumps; install and repair piping, valves, filters, hot water systems and associated controls; assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment. Installs, repairs, and maintains electrical controls, switching and motor controls. (frequently)
7.Follow safety regulations pertaining to erecting and working on ladders, swing stages, rigging, and scaffolds. (constantly)
8.Must be able to commit the time necessary from an attendance and punctuality standpoint to accomplish the above specified Essentials of Job. (constantly)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Prefer two years’ experience in maintenance field.
SKILLS: Must be able to read, speak, and write English.
PHYSICAL/SPECIAL DEMANDS:
1.Must be able to move throughout the facility.
2.Must be able to work in tight spaces, extreme heat, cold and wet places.
3.Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl and climb through small areas for up to eight.
4.Must lift or move up to 100 lbs. or more with assistance, 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. constantly.
5.Due to on-call status must have a cellphone.
6.Must be able to ascend/descend up to 10 flights of stairs regularly.
7.Must have the ability to work above head.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.89 - $21.55 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
