Maintenance Machinist

As a Maintenance Machinist you will work at intermediate maintenance level with fabrication of
new and replacement machined parts.

Key Accountabilities :
- Produces replacement parts and new parts and making repairs of metal parts on mechanical equipment
- Interpreting written instructions and specifications and planning and laying out work
- Using a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments and setting up and operating standard machine tools
- Shaping of metal parts to close tolerance and making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds of machining, along with fitting and assembling of parts into mechanical equipment
- Possess knowledge of the working properties of the common metals, selecting standard materials, parts, and equipment required for this work
- Documenting all work performed using manual and computerized systems in accordance with established procedures and contractual requirements.
Basic Qualifications :
- Ability to travel short term if needed
- Must be able to do shiftwork
- Must have a combination of over two years of directly related training and/or experience
Preferred Qualifications :
- Proven experience as machinist
- Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) to take accurate measurements
- Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
- Good at math with analytical abilities
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
