This is a skilled, semi-skilled position in several trades. An employee in this job performs various skilled and semi- skilled task in the repair and maintenance of machinery, equipment, and buildings. The employee exercise technical independence in determining work methods and procedures and receives assignments orally or through written instructions which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams by performing the following duties. • In the absence of Maintenance Supervisor assume responsibilities of Maintenance Supervisor. • Installs electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors, and other such equipment. • Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment, which includes testing, and evaluating equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges. • Test and calibrates pneumatic HVAC controls. • Installs and repairs commercial refrigeration equipment, morning and afternoon, making minor adjustments as needed and scheduling major repairs. Must be able to trouble shoot and repair both ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems as well as reefer units. • Perform inspection of ammonia lines and insulation on an annual basis. • Clean ammonia condenser towers on an annual basis. • Assist in truck maintenance garage as needed. • Performs skilled maintenance activities including construction, electrical, welding, brazing, soldering, and plumbing. • Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves, and motors. • Adjust, repairs, and replaces electrical and electronic pneumatic relays. • Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems; including opening clogged drains and pipes. • Maintains and repairs lift trucks and pallet jacks. • Maintains tools and machinery in good condition, and uses all tools carefully. • Has authority to purchase tools and repair parts that do not exceed $100.00 larger purchases require supervisor approval. Purchase orders must be submitted on all purchases over $10.00. Receipts must be provided on all purchases. • Organize and maintains tool room and spare parts storage rooms. • Performs accurate records for preventative maintenance. • Maintain preventative maintenance records on all equipment. • Responsible for completing special projects assigned through all phases of construction. • Coordinate annual inspection of the Distribution floor in the battery charging area with Cornerstone. • Designated to provide backup to the Warehouse Manager for the alarm system. • Responsible for ensuring inspection of respirators and completion of monthly respirator inspection checklist. • Responsible for janitorial services for all offices and employee welfare areas.

MS Outlook, Word, & Excel • 24 Hour Hazmat training preferred • Ammonia Operator I & II preferred • High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade school diploma preferred. Preferably two years' experience in building and plant maintenance work which involved electrical, mechanical, refrigeration (Freon and/or Ammonia), and building trades. Should have considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved. Preferably have an EPA certification card.
