MAINTENANCE HELPER - 1ST Shift

The Opportunity:

Position Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of all areas of a facility.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the work areas.
• Inspecting all electrical units and systems and ascertaining the proper functioning of the same.
• Keeping a record of the daily maintenance activities undertaken in a facility.
• Maintaining service cycle records.
• Reporting defects, damages and malfunctions of any kind to the supervising authority.
• Complying with all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while working.
• Effectively completing all tasks as assigned by the supervising manager.
• Coordinate work processes with other internal departments of the establishment.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature and Scope:

• Works under direct supervision and follows written/verbal instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Resolves routine questions and problems, refers complex issues to others.
• Demonstrates an awareness of the relative urgency of tasks and responds accordingly.
• Answers basic routine questions following pre-established guidelines.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify technical defects in electrical units and other equipment in a facility.
• Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.
• Must provide own tools.
• Able to work flexible hours.

Experience:

• At least 1 year of experience such as remodeling sheetrock, tile installation, repair lights, painting, grinding, and AC minor repairs, mechanical repairs.

Education:

• HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Trade school or technical experience in mechanical and electrical fields.
• 3 years as maintenance/general labor helper
