MAINTENANCE HELPER - 1ST Shift

The Opportunity:
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of all areas of a facility.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the work areas.
- Inspecting all electrical units and systems and ascertaining the proper functioning of the same.
- Keeping a record of the daily maintenance activities undertaken in a facility.
- Maintaining service cycle records.
- Reporting defects, damages and malfunctions of any kind to the supervising authority.
- Complying with all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while working.
- Effectively completing all tasks as assigned by the supervising manager.
- Coordinate work processes with other internal departments of the establishment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope:
- Works under direct supervision and follows written/verbal instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Resolves routine questions and problems, refers complex issues to others.
- Demonstrates an awareness of the relative urgency of tasks and responds accordingly.
- Answers basic routine questions following pre-established guidelines.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify technical defects in electrical units and other equipment in a facility.
- Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines and coordinate work functions with fellow workers.
- Must provide own tools.
- Able to work flexible hours.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience such as remodeling sheetrock, tile installation, repair lights, painting, grinding, and AC minor repairs, mechanical repairs.
Education:
- HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Trade school or technical experience in mechanical and electrical fields.
- 3 years as maintenance/general labor helper
