Fabricator Maintenance Technician Location - 3000 MT Pleasant Street, Burlington, Iowa Shift 8AM-4PM

We are looking for technically skilled candidates with good attention to detail for the position of fabricator. Fabricators are responsible for adhering to a production schedule, ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned, and secured and ensuring that safety standards are always met, among other duties.

Fabricators will be physically able workers who have good dexterity, color vision and stamina.

• Read and interpret detailed blueprints and/or minimal engineering drawings
• Fabricate and complete prototypes or first unit for quantity run as required
• Performs fabrication work by welding, fitting, and cutting parts
• Use of specialty equipment, air arc, plasma, band saws, drill press, and grinders
• Complete all stages of sheet metal fabrication including shearing, breaking, punching, drilling, and roll forming parts
• Use of oxygen and acetylene, trac torch, dual shield wire feed (FCAW) and TIG aluminum, some stick welding (SMAW)
• Proficient in the installation of flex face materials
• Conduct tests to evaluate quality and tolerance of each stage of production and assume responsibility for the quality of the finished product
• Set up, adjust, and properly use various equipment
• Conduct daily inspection of equipment
• Calculate material measurements to verify specifications
• Estimate time, materials, equipment, and supplies needed
• Complete time sheets, work orders, safety documentation, and other company paperwork as required

What you bring to the party

• Detail oriented
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and bend and twist up to 45 degrees
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings
• Mechanical skills and knowledge of basic machinery, including computers, tools, collaborative robots and other devices
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to touch and raise arms above shoulders
• Ability to go to the field take measurements and coming back to the shop to execute
• Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers, etc.
• Familiarity of welding tools and procedures
• Previous Welding experience
