- Support production operations by troubleshooting process deviations, implementing improvements in existing processes, installing & supporting new technologies to increase productivity, reliability, and cost reduction.
- Ensure machinery and equipment run smoothly and reliably through constant review of PM and condition based programs, revising as needed.
- Provide guidance and technical support to maintenance technicians in the proper installation of new and repair of existing equipment.
- Provide technical support and oversight in the acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, and improvement of manufacturing equipment.
- Assist in developing departmental objectives in areas of Safety, Quality, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
- Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards are incorporated into new designs and manufacturing improvements.
- Foster adherence and enforce compliance with Housekeeping, Sanitation, GMP, Food and Personnel Safety policies.
- Oversees Metal Detector, Scale, and Lifting equipment inspections and calibration programs.
- Directs Contract and internal electrical maintenance.
- Become subject matter expert in operation/maintenance of treatment chambers.
- Support technician training.
- Track expenses and oversee maintenance cost.
- Provide capital forecasting needs.
- Oversee equipment inventory and ensure orders are placed to replenish as needed.
- Directs the execution of and improvements to the Preventative Maintenance program.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial preferred)
- Ability to read, interpret, and create engineering drawings
- Fundamental knowledge of low voltage industrial controls and power distribution
- 6 yrs in industrial manufacturing, 4 years’ experience in maintenance.
- Experience with productivity and efficiency programs (TPM, Lean concepts) or similar fundamentals
- Supervisory experience.
- NFPA 70e awareness training
- A strong understanding of sanitary design concepts
- Formal training in root cause investigation methodology
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory agencies (OSHA, FDA, EPA)
- Experience in an agricultural or food processing environment
- Experience with milling, mixing and packaging equipment
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency, ownership and tenacity to resolve problems
