Maintenance Electrician Iii (Part-Time)

The Maintenance Electrician III is responsible for inspecting, maintaining and repairing various types of equipment to prolong the serviceable life of all equipment.

NYC Prevailing wage - $121.06/hr.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs sophisticated electrical troubleshooting and repairs including wiring single/three phase motors.
• Experienced with electrical & mechanical industrial controls fabrication, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades. Utilizes measuring instruments such as multi-meter, clamp meter, megger, loops generators etc.
• Reading controls and mechanic schematics for fabrication or troubleshooting.
• Works safely with high voltage with appropriate PPE: 480, 240, 120 VAC and 24 VDC circuits. High and low voltage.
• Knowledge in the application of disconnects, circuit breakers, fuses, starters, switches, power supplies, relays (all types), overloads and timers. Push buttons, selectors, etc.
• Knowledge in electrical explosion proof systems. Intrinsically safe barriers, insulators, surge protection, voltage/phase monitors, grounds etc.
• Familiarity with PLC’s programing (ladder logic), VFD’s applications and configuration. 3 phase and DC Motors and drives. Machine safety gate interlocks and Infrared safety barriers.
• Knowledge applying and using different type of sensors. Loops 4-20 milliamps or 0-10 volts for analog signal’s, limit switches, proximity switches, pressure switches, level transducers. Capacitive, reflective and diffuse Infrared sensors.
• Control Panel fabrication and wiring (NEC and UL color-coding), panel’s inter-connections through terminals, electronic board components de-soldering / soldering, terminals connectors, plugs etc.
• Control panel fabrication, perforations and punches, reading and understanding schematics. Creating or revising documentation in AutoCAD (initial level).
• Understanding Electric/Pneumatics/hydraulics logics using limit switches, solenoids, air pistons, check valves, actuators, regulators, pumps, filters, fluids etc.
• Mechanical works: gear motors, conveyors (rollers/belts/vertical/slanted/horizontal/cleated), etc. Hydraulic systems using: pumps, filters, control valves, pressure gauges, regulators, pistons etc.
• Cleans and maintenance tools and equipment.
• Maintains files and records of work orders and task completion.
• Day Shift – 2 days per week

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience or equivalent training in a related field.

Licenses/Certifications: New York State Electrician license. Valid Driver’s License. Electrical, Journeyman’s License. Other licenses may vary according to specific site and assignments.

Technical: Ability to follow manual & operating instructions. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & internet & CMMS Systems. Advanced knowledge of all aspects of electrical wiring, control circuitry. Advanced troubleshooting capability.
