Job Description
Leading manufacturer is seeking to fill a Traveling Maintenance Electrician position for its Winchester, KY plant.
Main duties are:
- Inside/outside routine maintenance or preventive maintenance for building(s), grounds, machines, and equipment;
- Setup and adjustments for production runs using shims and dies;
- Installation/repair of machines and equipment;
- Perform at a training-level capacity inside/outside minor/major emergency repairs as required for building(s), grounds, machines, and equipment following standard operating and safety procedures;
- Calibration and repair actions for pneumatic and hydraulic systems;
- Inspection of belts, fluid levels, filters, bearings, seals, etc.;
- Perform housekeeping actions adhering to post maintenance/repair procedures;
- Maintain scheduled maintenance procedures records for building(s), grounds, machines, or equipment by Daily/monthly checklist(s) completion as required by ISO regulations.
- Conduct a safety evaluation of work area(s) prior to performing maintenance actions
- Perform at a training-level capacity computerized control and monitoring of mechanical equipment
- Obtain estimates and order supplies and/or replacement parts as needed from outside vendors via telephone or off-site meetings; drive to pick-up supplies/parts or attend off-site meetings as required
- Travel to other plants to perform maintenance actions as required
- Perform any other general labor duties as directed by supervisory personnel to ensure efficient operation of facility
This position requires:
- HS/GED/Vocational Certification Required;
- Four (4) years demonstrated industrial maintenance experience or combination of education and experience required;
- Twenty-four to Thirty-Six (24-36) Months on-the-job training required;
- Valid driver’s license.

- Functional mathematical ability including knowledge of fractions and decimals with ability to perform measurement computing using tape measure and/or micrometers;
- Proficient mechanical knowledge with ability to develop good fabricating and trouble-shooting skills including pneumatic and hydraulic systems;
- Ability to read/comprehend written instruction; follow verbal directives; follow general and maintenance specific operating procedures;
- Team member mentality with good self-motivational ability to meet defined deadlines;
- Safety and quality assurance mindset with adherence to proper PPE requirements;
- Close visual acuity; near/far vision; manual dexterity; fine manipulation; verbal interaction skills; climbing capability; repetitive standing, walking, and/or bending capability; moderate/heavy lifting capability (up to 80 lbs);
- Knowledge of strata control products, ISO 9001 system, OSHA regulations, a plus.
- Working knowledge of operational functions for general maintenance equipment including cranes, forklifts, milling machines, lathes, welding and cutting equipment, and hand/power tools
- Must process knowledge in all industrial voltages; typical 24V control up to 480V;
- Must be willing to run conduit, install components, pull wires and not just be an electrical diagnosis/repair tech;
- Must be willing to assist with other jobs, not just electrical;
- Control or programming experience is a plus;
- Must understand LOTO and have a good mindset to produce a safe high quality job and work site;
- Basic computer skills
- Self-Motivational skills to perform duties with direct supervision when required with ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure
