ACTIVITIES
- Follow safety rules of Plastic Omnium and work in a manner that is conducive to maintaining a safe and healthful workplace
- Keep a neat, clean, and organized work area
- Perform preventative maintenance procedures as scheduled
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Determine root causes of equipment failures and implement permanent solutions
- Assist and train other internal and contracted maintenance technicians
- Assist contactors with repairs, revisions, construction, and new equipment setup
Skills/Abilities:
- Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills
- Works well independently and with others
- Good communication skills
- Organized with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment
- Conveyor system maintenance
- Chains, sprockets, shafts, bearings, etc.
- Use of hand tools
- Wrenches, pry bars, torque wrenches, chain breakers, etc.
- General metal fabrication skills
- Welding, grinding, cutting, drilling, forming, etc.
- Understands lubricants and applications
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery
- Must be able to visually inspect machines
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
