- Installation, Troubleshooting, Repair and Replacement of, but not limited to the following equipment and systems:
- Furnace Systems – Pressure Controls – Combustion Pilot Assemblies
- Thermocouples and RTDs
- Pressure, Flow, Temperature, and Level Transmitters
- Pressure Regulation
- Programmable Controllers
- Relays and Relay Systems
- Hydraulic Systems
- Vacuum Systems
- Pneumatic Systems and Controls
- Heating and Air Conditioning Systems
- Exhaust Air Systems
- Solenoid and Limit Switches
- Across the Line, Soft Start Units and Variable Frequency Drives
- Truck Scales
- DCS wiring system and instrumentation
- Monitoring Systems and Sensors
- Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems
- Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
- Test, troubleshoot and maintain medium voltage distribution equipment and feeders up to 15kV
- Test, program, and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers
- Disconnect and connect electrical power to Refinery equipment
- Test and maintain electrical safety systems and instrument safety systems
- Install, remove, calibrate and repair Refinery electrical equipment and components
- Troubleshoot and maintain electrical circuits and process control valves
- Installation, removal, calibration and repair of Refinery electronic digital and analog and pneumatic process control instruments
- Required skills and competencies:
- Identify electrical problems with a variety of electrical and instrumentation testing devices
- Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code and Engineering Specifications
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment
- Ensure the safe execution of work in the electrical and instrumentation group while meeting work schedules, quality standards, and adherence to department budget.
- Read blueprints or technical diagrams
- Communicate and interface with operations
- Provide technical guidance to the site, and resolve critical site issues
- All work to be installed in a neat and workmanlike manner adhering to the highest level of craftsmanship
- Coordinate ITPM ‘Inspection Testing and Preventative Maintenance’ documentation related to the maintenance of Refinery equipment and systems
- Comply with all facility safety procedures and safety training requirements including, but not limited to, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, National Electric Code or other regulatory agencies
- Communicate with staff and management at all levels and interface with third party service providers and subcontractors
- Conduct business in a manner that promotes teamwork, safety performance and environmental regulatory compliance
- Follow-through on commitments made to others.
- Work at heights, within hazardous classified locations, and under supplied air in toxic atmospheres as required
- Be available for on-call after hours work as assigned by supervisor
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
