Job Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will share the responsibility of ensuring that industrial automation
and mechanical systems are operating at peak uptime and performance. Furthermore, you will be tasked with
assisting the Senior Technician in promoting a safe and effective work environment. Qualified candidates
should possess a minimum of five years’ experience in industrial machinery maintenance and industrial
electronics, with a strong background in the troubleshooting and repair of automated machinery, industrial
computers, PLCs, VFDs, servo controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, and other related systems on both domestic
and European equipment.


Minimum Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Technical certification, Associate of Science degree, or equivalent
3. 5 years of prior experience in industrial maintenance involving electrical and mechanical functions or an
equivalent combination of education and experience.
4. A background in the fenestration industry performing as a Maintenance Technician is desired.
5. Job related degrees, certifications, licenses, or technical education are a plus.
6. Competencies for this position include safety, housekeeping, quality of work, quantity of work,
position/work knowledge, initiative, reliability, attitude, effort, teamwork, and attendance.
7. Promote the principles of achieving results with a sense of urgency, adaptability, interpersonal skills,
problem solving skills, self-improvement, and continuous focus on improving the process and product.
8. This position may involve having to work an irregular schedule, overtime, and weekends, dependent on
production or facility requirements.
9. Successful candidates for this position are expected to be multi-skilled and able to contribute to plant
maintenance activities with minimal instruction and supervision in a variety of disciplines.
10. Must have the manual and mental dexterity to sufficiently operate a wide variety of plant machinery, hand
tools, hand trucks, forklifts, platform lifts, and shop tools.

11. Supports the vision, purpose, and principles of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2. Demonstrates leadership skills with the ability to plan, organize, and execute instructions and projects in a
timely and efficient manner.
3. Possess proficient computer skills using the internet, Microsoft Office, eMaint X3 CMMS software,
SharePoint, and other company related programs.
4. Ensures operation of equipment and industrial automation by performing preventative and corrective action
on motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC’s, and other related systems; Follows schematics, diagrams,
operating manuals, equipment manufacturer recommendations, or engineering specifications.
5. Is familiar with all equipment within the area of responsibility and is known as a subject matter expert;
little direction or assistance from the Senior Technician on maintenance-related issues is expected.
6. Evaluate functionality, reliability, and overall output quality of production equipment and related systems
by collaborating with operators and leads; implement corrective action and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
7. Works as an operator on the production line to verify machine operation and overall output quality; adjusts
equipment or makes recommendations based on findings.
8. Assists in the upkeep and updating of maintenance records within the emaint CMMS system.
9. Assists the Senior Technician on identifying safety, equipment, inventory, and personnel issues so that the
proper action can be taken.
10. Performs basic operations on shop machinery such as mill, drill press, grinders, band saws, plasma cutter,
welder, etc. to make or repair basic parts to keep equipment operating.
11. Operates scissor lifts, forklifts, knuckle booms, and other work platforms as needed.
12. Assists in identifying and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts.
13. Controls downtime by exercising sound judgement and communication by informing Maintenance
Manager, and production line leads, of the situation; applying the appropriate company resources to the
issue.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

1. Ability to provide technical instruction, advice, and direction when leading one or more technicians in
successfully completing assigned tasks.
2. The ability to work under pressure, within a predetermined time frame, and produce positive results.
3. Ability to correctly follow an instruction or set of instructions in a certain order to obtain a desired result.
4. The ability to visualize job scope or how something will look upon completion from verbal description,
sketch, or drawing.
5. Ability to properly identify priorities and make the most appropriate decision that results in the most cost
effective and timely solution for production.

6. The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing or graphical form so others will understand.
7. The ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will fully understand
your intent.
8. Ability to operate a variety of tools such as hand tools, power tools, drill press, band saw, welder, plasma
cutter, surface grinder, etc.
9. The ability to effectively use computers as required in associated job tasks. This may include computers on
machinery, use of the Internet, and use of software on plant computers.

Physical Demands and Environment:

1. Move safely, quickly, and accurately when working around machinery or operating machine controls.
2. Accurately see minute details in objects at close range and clearly see objects at a distance.
3. Make coordinated movements with the fingers, hands, and arms when grasping, holding, manipulating, or
assembling both large and very small objects.
4. The ability to lift heavy and awkward objects up to 75 lbs., with the assistance of proper lifting devices,
during the work shift.
5. Mentally and physically exert oneself over long periods of time without getting winded or lose focus of the
task at hand.
6. Coordinate one’s body movement when operating equipment or performing tasks that may require multiple
movements, timed motions, and quick reaction responses.
7. Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area.
8. Work in an environment with moderate to high noise levels.
9. Occasionally work in heights exceeding 30 feet.
10. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, non-hazardous chemical agents, vibration,
wet or humid conditions, and outside weather conditions.
11. May be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
12. May be required to work rotating shift schedules.
13. May be required to work overtime to complete critical repairs.
