- The Mainframe Print Engineer aligned to Output Management Support is a member of the team responsible for configuring & supporting IBM and Third-Party print software running on the mainframe z/OS lpars.
- This includes installing patches or new versions of the software and helping maintain the high-speed print hardware.
- This team is also responsible for setting up monitoring/alerting for this equipment, as well maintaining print documentation & providing training as needed.
- This position requires the use of Service Now to document production changes and scheduling such changes during approved change windows.
- Support for Client Printer Access Facility (XPAF).
- Local and remote printing.
- AFP, LCDS (DJDE), XES, line mode, and formatted data streams.
- Data stream conversion and formatting.
- PDF Transform print to PDF files.
- Software products supported include:
- Print Services Facility (PSF).
- Virtual Printing System (VPS).
- Documentation Registration System (DRS).
- Advanced Function Printing (AFP).
- Line Conditioned Data Stream (LCDS).
- Data Stream Support.
- Printer Support.
- Maintenance, patches, upgrades, etc.
- Configuration of print environment.
- Work with Vendor as needed.
- 3rd level support for Print Operations.
- Extensive experience with z/OS and JES2.
- Experience with mainframe software support processes.
- Experience with Rumba/OJF/TSO.
- Working knowledge of JCL.
- Ability to manage a large, complex mainframe print environment.
- Familiarity with Ricoh Process Director and non-mainframe print processes a plus.
- Working knowledge of Service Now and ITIL principles.
