Mainframe Systems Support Specialist (Multiple Vacancies)
Pomeroy IT Solutions is seeking to fill (3) Mainframe Support System Specialist positions in our Raleigh /Durham North Carolina Locations.
This position is a Full Time Benefitted position (Rotating Schedule)

Job Description

The individuals hired to fill this role will be Supporting Console/Batch Operations for Mainframe environment: Must have prior experience and working knowledge in some or all activities: troubleshooting, operating, testing, planning and/or configuring relevant technologies used within the department. The ideal candidate will have in depth knowledge of operating system and at least one or more of the following areas: hardware, server, network, software, application, database or other technologies.

  • Monitor Z/OS mainframe computer system.
  • Perform system IPL's as needed and directed.
  • CA7 Batch scheduling and abend recovery.
  • Monitor and execute batch processing on multiple OS platforms using line commands, menus, and GUI interfaces. Perform file system restores. Execute backups and scheduling tasks using CA-Scheduler.
  • Monitor MVS environments and respond to alerts.
  • Perform problem determination, escalations, document incidents, and follow through until resolution completed.
  • Performed Disaster Recovery testing.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years knowledge of Mainframe environment.
  • Monitor and Manage Mainframe systems and respond to alerts.
  • Perform IPLs
  • Proficient in ticketing tools: ServiceNow, Maximo, Remedy.

  • CA7 / TSM / Control-M /SDSF
  • DB2 / IMS / CICS/ MQ
  • IPLs
