Bloomcloud-Snowflake-AWS Cloud Data Enablement for Small Business is looking for a Mainframe System Programmer. This is a contract role located in the New York City Metropolitan Area and will be on-site. The Mainframe System Programmer will be responsible for designing and implementing various mainframe systems and applications, including hardware configurations and software installations. In addition, the Mainframe System Programmer will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting issues, as well as collaborating with other IT teams to ensure the proper functioning of the mainframe systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in mainframe systems programming
- Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS operating system, including CICS, DB2, and IMS
- Excellent understanding of programming languages such as COBOL, Assembler, and JCL
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving mainframe system-related issues
- Experience with installation and maintenance of third-party software and hardware products
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent time-management skills with a focus on meeting project deadlines and prioritizing tasks
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Snowflake is a plus
- Knowledge of security and disaster recovery concepts and methodologies is a plus
