Mailroom Supervisor
Location: Reston, VA
Pay: $32.83
Shift: 900am-600pm
Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and reliable Mailroom Supervisor to manage mailroom operations and staff both onsite and offsite at neighboring locations. This position will also perform mailroom functions, oversee pantry operations and monitor printer services. There will be times that the Mailroom Supervisor can be assigned other duties to assist the Facilities Service teams.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, dedicated, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
Job Responsibilities
Approve timecards
Coach and mentor staff
Monitor staff on their My Development Training, job knowledge and career growth
Sort and deliver mail and packages
Manage chain of custody process for all parcels received and must have a knowledge of package tracker equipment and operations
Resolve issues with returned mail
Order postage for Pitney Bowes postage equipment
Process outgoing shipments (Fed Ex, UPS, and USPS)
Ensure mailstops are adequately stocked with supplies
Stock copy rooms and printing devices with copy paper and toner
Manage fleet of Xerox printers, including cleaning and servicing devices
Organize and replenish breakrooms with coffee supplies
Manage Central Supply Room, order supplies and keep in organized manner
Report operation workload for various sites on a weekly volume report
Walk facility once a week and log work orders for torn carpet, damaged ceiling tiles, etc.
Provide employee move services as requested by Facility Manager
Ability to identify and record Good Catch / Near Miss
Ability to create and implement process and procedures for the department
Ability to manage special projects
Develop and maintain professional work relationships with key personnel at client site
Other duties and tasks assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent
1 to 2 years of related experience required
Must be reliable and professional.
Must have reliable transportation and clean driving record.
Self-motivated, organized, and strong time management skills
Strong customer service skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Background in hospitality a plus
Ability to spend much of the day on feet. Must be able to work quickly with hands and have good hand/eye coordination
Regularly lift, move and/or carry up to 10 pounds; frequently lift, move and/or carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift, move and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
