Job Description and Duties

Under general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I and direction of the Unit’s lead, the incumbent operates complex multi-function mailing equipment in the processing of U.S. mail; exercises knowledge of postal regulations and rates; organizes and processes mass mailings; weighs and processes all outgoing mail. Picks up and sorts incoming mail and performs mail delivery within the CalEPA Headquarters Building.

Working Conditions

  • Requires being in a stationary position, consistent with office work, for extended periods.
  • Standard office environment (for example, artificial lighting, controlled temperature, etc.)
  • Daily use of a personal computer, office equipment, and/or telephone.
  • Position located in a high-rise building
  • Must be able to move/transport materials weighing up to 35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Additional working condition(s): (1) Deliver mail throughout a 25 story building; (2) Stand for prolonged periods of time; (3) Adapt to rotational cross training.
