Mail Machine Operator

Position Summary:

• Responsible for setting up and operating Stand Alone Meter per predetermined guidelines.
• Ensures accurate class and postage is applied to each mail job.
• Ensures correct account is applied to each mail job.
• Sets-up and operates the Computer Output Mailing System (COMS) with limited assistance. 
• Ensures proper inserts and carrier are used. 
• Programs all outgoing corporate mail on COMS according to proper inserts, weights, postage, etc. per predetermined guidelines.
• Maintains accurate counts of documents processed daily. 
• Ensures equipment is operational and maintenance is up to date, including thorough cleaning.

Job Requirements:

• Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of a production mail environment is preferred
• Requires in-depth knowledge of or ability to learn USPS regulations and mailing standards
• Requires the ability to perform a variety of work assignments and effectively cope with change, shifts gears comfortably and acts without having the total picture.
