Mail Inkjet And Inserter Operator

This is a fast moving position that requires great attention to detail and the ability to move from project to project quickly throughout the day.

Experience in printing and mailing would be great, but we will train the right applicant.

Required skills: Ability to multitask; read a ruler; general computer and typing skills; lift up to 30# repeatedly; stand for eight hours.

Summary/Objective
The Mail Operator understands production and can set up and operate all mailing equipment, is accountable for the efficient operation of equipment, and the quality of the finished product.

1st Shift: 7:30 am- 3:30 pm; 40 hours a week

Essential Functions

• Operates inkjet addressing, envelope inserters, tabbing equipment, and can sort mail
• Maintain quality and production standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Set up, operate and adjust equipment, and be able to meet established production standards regularly.
• Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions.
• Continually monitor the quality of finished product per established QC guidelines.
• Ensure the work area is free of hazards and clean of debris.
• Complete paperwork to assure proper job counts along with job trackability.
• Read and understand the Job “Work Order" for instructions and specifications specific to the manufacturing of a job. Produce all jobs according to the specifications and instructions within the Work Order.
• Approve sets ups and make ready before the jobs get produced.
• Perform reasonable repairs and maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• Individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Must have the necessary machine skills to effectively and efficiently operate all finishing equipment.
• Quality conscious and detail oriented.
• Preferably 2 years of direct experience, but any machine operator experience is a plus.
• Laurel Valley Graphics is a detailed oriented, deadline driven company with high expectations.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions and carry out tasks to meet instructions

Work Environment
The work environment is a fast-paced production environment where the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, moderate to loud noise level and moving vehicles or forklifts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to Balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, push, pull, grasp, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions.
The employee must occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment and to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned as well as to make general observations of the facilities and work-space.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required dependent upon business necessity.
