The expected compensation range for this position is $133,435 - $163,088, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.). As a Machine Vision & Automation Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Developing creative methods for vision system data visualization and analysis
- Creating and delivering comprehensive training and troubleshooting documentation for maintenance and other personnel
- Identifying, procuring, and optimizing vision systems for maximum quality, yield, and throughput
- Standardizing vision system templates, procedures, and methodologies to optimize performance and minimize downtime
- Specifying and commissioning new automated equipment and vision systems
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a Science or Engineering discipline from an accredited university
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in a STEM discipline
- Five (5) years of combined experience in robotics, vision systems, and/or manufacturing in aprivate, public, government or military environment
- Experience with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, LMI, and/or Advantech), PLC Programming, and data analysis/visualization such as: Process Studio, PowerBI, JMP, Grafana in aprivate, public, government or military environment
- Three (3) years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing and/or industrial setting in aprivate, public, government or military environment with demonstrated strength in engineering/technical skills
- Experience with process validation and documentation in aprivate, public, government or military environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong communication skills both verbal and written, analytical and organizational skills to manage dynamic priorities
