Machine Shop Production Manager

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee our precision machining operations. As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the shop, including production planning, CNC mill and lathe setups and programming , and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a key leadership role that requires strong mechanical knowledge, operational expertise, and the ability to drive efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities:
- Set up Mazak Mill and Lathes and program using Mazatrol

- Manage day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient production processes
- Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization
- Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement lean manufacturing principles
- Lead a team of shop employees, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination of activities and timely delivery of products
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety guidelines and promoting a culture of safety awareness
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations
- Continuously evaluate shop performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement

Experience:
- Proven experience in plant management or operations management in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of production processes
- Demonstrated experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and driving process improvements
- Ability to effectively manage a team and foster a positive work environment
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience with production planning and inventory management systems
- Ability to fabricate and assemble products is highly desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
