Compensation: $19.75-$21.75 per hour, based on experience.
Under the guidance of the Logistics Manager, the Machine Packer 2 (MP2) is responsible for the safe packaging of all QVI bench tops and some floor model machines. Must understand the different packaging requirements for both domestic and international shipments.
Position Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the packing activity for all bench top machines – understand which packing materials are required, what packing materials need to be manipulated (skids, tubes etc.) and what accessories must be packed with the machine.
- Visually inspect machines and accessories for cosmetic damage and completeness.
- Must follow all packing guidelines to ensure the safe and accurate shipment of all products.
- Safely operate table saw and power tools.
- Must be physically able to handle sheets of 4x8 plywood or other material that's awkward or somewhat heavy.
- Monitors levels of shipping supplies, informs manager at a predetermined level to avoid stockouts.
- Performs daily / weekly 6S activities per schedule.
- Ability to work independently yet ask for assistance when required.
- Begin training on common floor model machines at the discretion of management.
- Master E45 or 500 machine packing
- Operate forklift to safely place machines on pallets.
- Assists in Receiving, Small Pack or Stock as needed.
- Contributes to lean initiatives as directed by the manager.
1. Exceptional attention to detail and focus
2. Previous experience with wood construction (table saws) and various power equipment including drills, drivers and nail guns
3. Good Organizational skills with the ability to multitask or change tasks to meet business needs
4. Willingness to work as part of a team
5. Ability to lift 50 pounds
6. 2+ years carpentry experience
7. Previous forklift experience
