Job Description
Our client, a global leader in packaged good solutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Seamer - Machine Operator, to join our winning team in Bristol.
Our candidate of choice will be responsible for the setup, operation and maintenance of converting machines for the converting of flexible packaging materials.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate converting machine efficiently and productively against set goals
- Learn and understand all of the mechanics of the machine
- Performs a combination of production tasks which may include: positioning work, setting up jobs, adjusting and operating machinery
- Observes machine processing for proper functioning and production of products
- Identify and perform minor repairs and adjustment to equipment
- Watch and monitor production for potential problems
- Inspects and tests completed product
- Responsible for production and quality of product output
- Production record keeping and labeling of boxes
- Complies with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and any job or department specific SOP’s.
- SOP’s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
- Employee Health and Safety
- SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
- SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP’s
- SOP’s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
- Must work within productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
- Special Projects & other duties as necessary
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to read a tape measure/ruler
- Ability to use a computer, (basic computer skills, data entry)
- Basic math skills
- Good organizational skills
- Communicate well with others
- Basic reading and writing skills, (must be legible)
- Use of minor tools, (i.e. allen wrenches)
- Use of sharp cutting tools
- Process written information, (orders, SOP’S, etc.)
