Job Description
We are seeking a Machine Operator for our 2nd shift (3-11 pm) position. You will be operating stripe machines used to manufacture wire and cable products. Below is a breakdown of the key responsibilities and qualifications mentioned:
Responsibilities:
- Read Shop Order and Manufacturing Specification to determine machine set-up, required materials, and quantity to run.
- Set up the machine, including installing correct striping wheels, aligning striping wheels, and selecting the correct ink.
- Verify that the wire to be striped conforms to specification requirements.
- Inspect start-up samples for conformance to requirements, including stripe colors, widths, adhesion, and lay.
- Periodically inspect the product being striped for conformance to requirements.
- Set predetermining counter as required.
- Keep work area clear of excess cans of ink.
- Clean striping wheels and inkpots after jobs are complete.
- Dispose of waste ink and solvents into waste storage drum.
- Attach production tags to conforming material and stop tags to non-conforming material.
- Run multiple machines.
- Perform all other responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Adequate verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Must be able to operate machinery in compliance with safety standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
This role requires a combination of technical skills related to machine operation, attention to detail for quality control, and adherence to safety standards. Additionally, good communication skills and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations are essential. The specified educational background and manufacturing experience are also key qualifications for the role
