Machine Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Startup and shutdown of extruder
• Run Auto Coiler
• Knowledge of vacuum system operation and troubleshooting
• Housekeeping and organization around the jacketing area
• Ability to read and understand required paperwork
• Ability to file completed job paperwork correctly
• Operation of payout and take up hydraulic units
• Proper use of level winder and power unit
• Communicate mechanical and electrical problems to the maintenance department
• Ability to perform all tasks on the jacketing lines from Utility 1-2, and Pipe Machine Operator 1
• Work closely with Yard team to ensure efficiencies
• Perform other tasks as assigned
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 1 year experience as Pipe Machine Operator 1
• Capable of changing out die tooling
• Ability to start line, tie-off pipe to take-up spool
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required
• Teamwork is necessary
• Clear and concise communicator (written and verbal)
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Practice good housekeeping by maintaining a clean work area
• Able to stand for long periods of time

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, safety shoes, and hardhats. Company uniforms must be worn at all times.
