What you'll do
- Operate Filler/Pasteurizer, maintain start-up, shut-down, and clean-up checklist.
- Maintain communication with Blenders and Label Machine Operator.
- Set proper codes in the Video Jet printer.
- Log start-up times and downtimes.
- Maintain a clean and organized area while following GMP's.
- Assist in all clean-ups in the area.
- Maintain RFX issuing of materials.
- Follow all hot pack filling procedures.
- Set up and maintain plastic container line feeding into and discharging from filler.
- Adjust filler for various plastic container sizes.
- Perform Foreman duties in event of needed coverage.
- Perform minor mechanical adjustments as needed to maintain efficiency.
- Regular attendance required.
- Must interact cordially with co-workers.
- Must be an active participant of the company safety program.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
- Due to the significant amount of steps/stairs contained in our production facility, employees must have the ability to navigate steps/stairs in a safe manner.
What we're looking for:
- Must be able to read, write & speak English and perform basic math.
- Must be able to read, interpret and follow written instructions, including operator instructions, safety information, SOP's and SSOP's.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to pass the Basic Skills Assessment for this position.
- Must be able to pass the Mechanical Aptitude test with a minimum of 70%.
- MSSC, CQIA, or Lean Bronze certifications preferred.
- This is a Machine Operator position with an emphasis placed on skills and aptitude.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Must be able to work as a member of a Team and be willing to cross train in other areas of the department.
- Must also have the aptitude and ability to cross-train as back up for Foreman position.
- Must be able to obtain a FNG Class A Forklift License within 90 days
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., communicate effectively, and work as a Team member.
- Must be able to lean pasteurizer and filler operation, how to set codes on the Video Jet printers and how to record documentation on downtime and temperature.
- Must be physically able to move safely and quickly in reaction to line issues.
