SalaryHouston Fasteners a division of MW Components is looking for a Machine Operator - 2nd shift. The Machine Operator sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines. Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area
- Operate various types of machines to produce parts conforming to print requirements
- Meet quality and schedule requirements as assigned
- Monitor tool life and replace cutting tools as needed
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Strong computer skills (MS Office) with experience in ERP systems preferred
- Working knowledge of manufacturing principals
- Mechanically inclined
- Knowledge of hand tools
- Basic shop math
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation and production systems preferred
- Possess a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job
- Experience in manufacturing preferred but not limited
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand, stoop and lift up to 40 pounds
