JOB PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY:
This position is an entry level Machine Operator or an operator that operates and monitors one technical production machine during initial training period under direct supervision. The position ensures proper procedures are followed and work is productive, safe, and efficient. This position is for 3rd Shift and hours will be 10pm - 6am, Sunday - Thursday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsibly for safely operating machines and equipment during training under direct supervision
- Under direct supervision, perform quality checks of all products as outlined in departmental quality control on inspection procedures and be able to recognize product outside the specified tolerance
- Developing responsibility for a clean and orderly work area at all times according to 6S along with identifying 6S improvements
- Actively communicates with material handlers
- Complete and responsible for device history record (DHR) paperwork and label verification with direction from trainer
- Responsible for neat and accurate production reports and quality check sheets on a daily basis with direction from trainer
Converting / Specialty
- Ability to safely develop and perform the following operator duties on one machine under direct supervision - when necessary
- Loading of parent rolls on unwinds
- Webbing machines
- Tension adjustments
- Shimming and adjusting cutting equipment
- Set-ups
- Changeovers
- Ability to safely operate the equipment under supervision
- Learn the quality specifications for all products produced on the line and properly report all quality defects to the Supervisor or Lead Person.
- Responsible for properly packing products off the line under direct supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Specialized Knowledge
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or zero to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in an Extrusion / Converting / Production related field
