JOB DUTIES & EXPECTATIONS
• maintain and repair machinery and equipment and install and fabricate physical structures, pipe and
electrical systems
• must be able to follow blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings while performing maintenance and
repairs of the machinery and equipment
• visually inspect and test machinery and equipment by using electrical and electronic test equipment,
listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and to discuss machine
operation with co-workers
• dismantle machines and equipment and install new or required parts and follow the specifications by
using blueprints, and/or manuals
• to perform the repair and maintenance of machines and equipment will use hand tools, power tools,
hoist, crane, and measuring and testing equipment
• repair and maintain all hydraulic and electrical equipment and machinery
• repair and maintain, inspect, and operate the following equipment and machinery, but not limited to:
cranes, forklifts, order filling tables, saws, chain saws, gas and diesel equipment, torch tables, hand and
powered tools, motors, racks, and welders
• clean and lubricate machines and equipment parts; such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings by using
parts washer solvents, rags, brushes, and grease guns
• fabricate steel, wood and other materials to assist in the operation, and safety of the plant
• use hand and power tools to fabricate physical structures, benches and partitions
• follow all OSHA regulations and ensure the equipment and machinery are in proper working condition
according to OSHA and ANSI standards
• perform outdoor maintenance including but not limited to snow removal, ground and landscape
maintenance, housekeeping duties, and road grading
• must enter work completed into the data base in a timely manner
• must be able to work when equipment or machinery fail. In order to perform this essential job function,
maintenance personnel may be asked to be on call 24 hours of the day
• Must know how to operate equipment that they are expected to work on
• Other duties as specified by supervisor
