Overview
Kamatics, a division of Kaman, is seeking motivated individuals to join our team in Bloomfield, CT as a Machine Fluid Handler on first shift. This person will be responsible for all coolant recycling and manages metal turnings for recycling to ensure that operations are within environmental requirements. The will also be expected to maintain cleanliness of machines and facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Following work orders, performs preventive maintenance on coolant on manual and automated machinery, including CNC lathes, millers, saws, grinding and honing equipment.
- Tops off coolant daily and monitors PH level and concentration levels.
- Takes care of all machine skimmers to assure proper operation of tramp oil removal from machines.
- Collects chip barrels from machines and moves barrels outside to trailer for recycling pick-up.
- Assists with janitorial work when needed.
- Performs all responsibilities within productivity and quality expectations. Follows work procedures.
- Maintains clean and safe work environment. Follows safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Reports safety incidents to supervisor.
- Makes recommendations for improvements to work processes. Contributes to 5 S program in work area.
- Provides a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contributes to positive teamwork environment.
Performs other duties as assigned. Participates in training/learning other positions. Accomplishes related results as needed.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma / GED.
Experience: 0-1 years manufacturing experience.
