JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Electrician role wires and tests all types of control panels, drives, motors, and related machine components.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary Duties:

Performs any job connected with the electrical components on a Landis grinding machine. This would include the complete wiring of control panels, motors, and all related components including start-up and making any necessary adjustments. May work with some control systems. May perform mechanical functions in the preparation of a control panel and may make mechanical adjustments necessary in finalizing the start-up of a machine. Connects completed work to main power supply and checks operation of machine for proper operation. Required to travel to customer locations as needed.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment where machinery is assembled, however, confined workspace can be experienced; exposure to electrical shock and high voltage electricity exists.

Physical Demand:

Can require extensive standing, stooping, and bending; some work from ladders is required as well as climbing onto the machine to complete electrical wiring.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must possess a strong attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow policies and procedures and support organization’s goals.
• Regular attendance and timeliness are essential.
• Contribute to building a positive team spirit.
• Must have a strong work ethic and be able to follow proper safety procedures and guidelines.
